Her and His Diary Entry

HER DIARY:

Tonight, I thought my husband was acting weird. We had made plans to meet at a bar to have a drink. I was shopping with my friends all day long, so I thought he was upset at the fact that I was a bit late, but he made no comment on it.

Conversation wasn’t flowing, so I suggested that we go somewhere quiet so we could talk. He agreed, but he didn’t say much. I asked him what was wrong. He said, ‘Nothing.’ I asked him if it was my fault that he was upset. He said he wasn’t upset, that it had nothing to do with me, and not to worry about it.

On the way home, I told him that I loved him. He smiled slightly, and kept driving. I can’t explain his behavior. I don’t know why he didn’t say, ‘I love you, too.’ When we got home, I felt as if I had lost him completely, as if he wanted nothing to do with me anymore. He just sat there quietly, and watched TV. He continued to seem distant and absent.

Finally, with silence all around us, I decided to go to bed. About 15 minutes later, he came to bed. To my surprise, he responded to my caress, and we made love. But I still felt that he was distracted, and his thoughts were somewhere else. He fell asleep -I cried. I don’t know what to do. I’m almost sure that his thoughts are with someone else. My life is a disaster.

Google Chrome First Thoughts

This is a follow-up to the last post about the Chrome announcement, since Chrome is now officially out and available at www.google.com/chrome

I was pretty excited to try it out after researching why Google decided to build a web browser, and how they set it apart from what is already available.  There have been lots of reviews by people that are probably much more qualified than me to be reviewing it so I won’t go into too much detail, just my first initial impressions, what they did right, and what I think it still lacks…so here we go!

Google Chrome - Do we need another browser?

Image from TechCrunch.com

That was the first question that popped into my head when I heard rumors that Google was developing a new web browser. Actually, the first *thought* that popped into my head was “Shit, not another freakin’ browser to test my applications in!”.

Well, needless to say I was a little upset that Google decided it needed to play in this arena now, and for what good reason? I mean we already have IE6/7/8 to test new web application in which is by far the most dominant browser out there (right now), and is likely the majority of most office environments as it comes standard with MS operating systems. Firefox is making some major headway, but we all have to make sure things work in IE first and foremost because if you can get your app to run properly in IE most likely it will run in Firefox with no problems :-) Then there is Safari which is making a comeback, Mozilla, and of course Opera. That is a long enough checklist, and there are more, but strategically those the the main ones I cover. Now we have a new one?!? WTF mate?

FOX News, clearly Fair and Balanced

I really didn’t want to get into politics on this site but this is just so ridiculous that it almost belongs in the “funny” category … except there is probably some little old lady in Arizona that is on the phone telling all her friends how Obama and Biden are really secret operatives for the terrorists because it was just on the news…which makes it less funny :-( This sinks to a new low that I previously thought didn’t exist in American journalism.

Mac vs PC Southpark Style

I really hate those Mac vs PC commercials, they reek of arrogance and trendiness … Plus Apple fan boys are douche bags. I don’t mind Apple products and own several myself, but the whole lifestyle thing, come on now…are you that lonely?  It’s a COMPUTER.  You are not allowed to look down on someone because they prefer to use a different COMPUTER than you.  That being said, this Southpark interpretation is quite good.

Ikea Assembly Instructions

Check out this crazy image from a set of Ikea assembly instructions…I knew their stuff was out there but wow.

10 cars under 30k that will (help) get you laid

This is a response to 10 cars that are guaranteed to get you laid on a budget that was up on Digg from ridelust.com that was absolutely horrible. They had a freakin’ Hyundai and a Crown Vic on their list for Christ sakes!

No offense ridelust, some of the cars on the list were ok, but you completely lost me with the Crown Vic!  Unless you are planning on getting laid without the lady’s consent, then probably want to leave the fake undercover police car at home (Double baco cheeseburger. It’s for a cop…).

Ok so here we go…

From Banned to Birth

First post, yay!  This blog has a long story behind it, most of it which transpired today.  I had this domain registered for me a while back when George Dubya coined the famous phrase “Internets” and it it caught on as an internet meme.  I thought, what a great name for a site…kind of like Dear Abby, except for the internets and all that dwell here.  It sat parked at godaddy for quite a while, and I kept thinking…someday I’ll have time to do something with it.  Well that day came today…and quite abrubtly I might add.

A little bit of background.  A while back I had also purchased a technology news website (blog) that I had high hopes for.  It was listed at SitePoint in their auctions section.  It had a decent PR and verified income, and pretty decent traffic numbers.  According to the seller (with adsense screenshots) it was making about $100/month and had potential.  I’d been wanting to get something like that going for a while, so I decided to buy it.  That turned out to be a bad decision.  Once I got to dig into the backend of the site a little more I realized that a lot of the traffic was trumped up and a lot of other red flags.  Oh well, live and learn.  I still had the great name, and a lot of potential.  I started posting random tech stuff I found throughout the day.
